Corner Fish
A downloadable game
Cornerfish is a small fishing game that lives in the corner of your screen. The window has no border and no background, so what you get is a framed photograph of a fishing spot resting on top of whatever you were already doing — sky and pier above the waterline, and the fish themselves below it, going about their business.
It fishes on its own. You don't have to do anything. Leave it in the corner while you work and the bucket slowly fills.
If you do want to take part, it's two clicks: left-click a fish you like and the line is cast to it, then right-click to reel it in. Landing one yourself is worth double. That's the whole of the interaction. There's no timing bar, no combo meter, and nothing that punishes you for ignoring it for an hour.
Selling the bucket is what earns coins, and the number of fish you've sold is what opens up somewhere new: a cold lake, a mountain river, a coral lagoon at golden hour, and a moonlit mere that shouldn't really exist. Each has its own water, its own light, and its own fish — from bluegill and pumpkinseed up to a starlight dragonfish.
Three pieces of gear carry across all of them: a rod that shortens the wait, a lure that brings rarer fish into the water you're watching, and a market stall that raises what everything sells for.
